The Story of Ferdinand is a timeless classic that has delighted children for decades. The world was first introduced to Ferdinand in 1936. The story follows Ferdinand, a gentle and kind-hearted bull who wants nothing more than to spend his days smelling the flowers.

For this cover redesign, a more modern folk-art aesthetic was chosen to pay homage to the original cover design. Paired with a similar hand lettered title and author acknowledgment. A muted neutral palette was chosen for Ferdinand himself. A muted green background was chosen to mimic Ferdinand's favorite place to be, his pasture. Pops of orange and red were used in the florals to push Ferdinand to stand out even more.
