Manistee Catholic Central is a private school educating preschool through 12th grade students in Northern Michigan. The parents in charge of fundraising activities reached out in need of an informational flyer to help promote their annual "Paint a Gnome" fundraiser. A whimsical gnome illustration was paired with equally playful script and sans serif fonts. Soft pops of color were used in contrast with warm browns to appeal to both students and parents alike. 

 

Coaching on how best to market this fundraising event was discussed. In addition to announcing this event in church, it was announced by the principal during school hours, the poster was hung around the school grounds, and was sent home with students for parental review. These small changes in marketing helped

MCC parents raise $2,750 in funds—almost double what had been previously raised with this same event in

prior years.
